On Tuesday night, August 4, a Graysville man was killed in a wreck.
According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department, the accident happened around 11.15 p.m. at the 1100 block of North Main Street in Graysville. A 2007 Ford Expedition was going at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control, the vehicle left the road, went through a private yard belonging to someone, and then into a wooded area, hitting several trees before coming to a halt.
The driver was 67 year old Curtis Arvon Langley and he was pronounced dead at the scene. There were two passengers, both of whom managed to exit the vehicle and call for help. The female passenger only suffered minor injuries and she was taken to hospital, whereas the male passenger was uninjured.
Police say that speed was a factor in the accident.
