On Friday, December 9, a teenage girl was seriously hurt after she jumped from a moving vehicle in Center Point.
According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department , the incident happened at 4.15 p.m. in the 100th block of 14th Avenue Northwest. It appears that the girl was sitting in the passenger seat of a car driven by an 18 year old male friend. As the car traveled along 14th Avenue, the girl jumped out the car and fell. She was then struck by the same car.
She was transported to hospital with life threatening injuries where her current condition is unknown
Deputies said the driver is being questioned by investigators and is cooperating. It is not yet known why she jumped from the car. The Sheriff’s Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team is carrying out an ongoing investigation.
